Sanbrina Dance Club Donate to Afghan Heroes

The Sanbrina Dance Club held a Spring Ball on 23rd March 2010 at Los Arcos Restaurante. The event was well attended, and the 90 people who came had a wonderful time. Barry and Mary Manock, who run the Sabrina Dance Club donated the 220 Euros that they raised to Afghan Heroes.

Jackie Lawson, the Regional Co-ordinator for expats4afghanheroes, the Spanish branch of Afghan Heroes collected the donation from Barry and Mary. They were presented with an official Afghan Heroes Certificate. Jackie was treated to an exhibition of some of the forthcoming dances, which will be included in their next show for Afghan Heroes on May 22nd at Pizzeria Asturia, Punta Prima, Torrevieja.

Tickets will be 5 Euros. Doors open at 7.30pm and the show starts at 8pm

International Veterans Day

Anyone who has some free time and would like to support our troops, please come down to the Salt Jetty in Torrevieja. come and say "Hello". I would love to see you all. There will be lots of different Charities attending and Expats 4 Afghan Heroes will be there too, so the ideal time to find out about organising your fundraiser for Afghan Heroes, or to bring those items we can use for upcoming raffles. Hope to see you there.

I have to thank the Iceni Dancers today for presenting Expats4afghanheroes with 250 Euros for the Afghan Heroes appeal. Their very kind donations takes our total raised this year to over 1200 Euros. I watched them practicing their routines, and I must say that I am looking forward to April 23rd when they will be performing along with Cathy Carson and TAABS, who were voted the "Fundraiser of the Year" at Hazyland in Daya Nueva village. Tickets are only 3 Euros and anything raised on the night will go to Afghan Heroes. An ideal way to spend St George's night - Supporting our Troops in Afghanistan. You will also be able to buy the Afghan Heroes Wristbands at this event..

Imanyos Daya Nueva

It really warms my heart when people put themselves out for others. Chris from Daya Nueva is one of those people. She arranged all the raffle prizes and sold the tickets at her local bar Imanyos in Daya Nueva, near Rojales on the Costa Blanca. Expats4afgahnheroes would like to thank her for raising 116 Euros. As a thank you, the bar will be presented with an official Afghan Heroes Certificate.

La Marina Bar, Toretta II, Torrevieja

Expats4afghanheroes would like to thank Rita And Dave who run The Marina Bar for their hard work in raising money for Afghan Heroes. They raised 590 Euros in December by holding a Christmas Craft and Gift Fayre, and held and auction. I didnt have to do any of the work, because they did it all.

They have continued to sell the books that were left, and have had such a good response from locals, that I have had to beg for more for them.

During March 2010 they will be holding an auction to raise more funds for Afghan Heroes. If you have any items that you would like to donate you can find the bar by taking the turning by the police station opposite Carrefour and McDonalds in Torrevieja. Go left at the next roundabout and then 2nd right. The bar is on the right after the phone box.

Rita and Dave also have a small stock of wristbands, as worn by HRH Prince Harry. Get yours before they sell out - again!
